Adventure Days operate Tuesday through Thursday and include morning pickup, transportation, carefully supervised outdoor activity, water and rest breaks, photo and video updates, and afternoon drop-off.

What Is an Adventure Day?
Dogs were made to move, sniff, explore, play, and experience the world around them. Yet even well-loved city dogs can spend long stretches indoors and follow the same neighborhood route day after day. An Adventure Day gives your dog the chance to leave that routine behind and spend several hours exploring dog-friendly destinations throughout Chicagoland.
This is not a quick walk, a crowded daycare room, or a simple trip to the nearest dog park. It is a complete day designed around movement, curiosity, fresh air, appropriate social connection, and the natural behaviors that help dogs feel fulfilled. Depending on the weather, season, destination, and dogs attending, the pack may hike wooded trails, explore open prairie, splash at a beach, swim, run, investigate new scents, play together, or settle into a quieter walk and rest in the shade.
Every outing is planned around the actual dogs attending that day. Age, health, energy level, confidence, play style, friendships, and comfort in different environments all matter. The goal is not to exhaust dogs at any cost. The goal is to give each dog a safe, satisfying experience that leaves them physically exercised, mentally engaged, socially connected, and ready for a well-earned nap at home.

Pickup and drop-off are part of the service, so families do not need to rearrange the workday or drive outside the city. Timing varies with the route and group, but communication is clear and the dogs settle into a consistent rhythm. Many clients tell us their dog begins to recognize Adventure Day morning and waits enthusiastically for the pack to arrive.

10-Adventure Package: $550
The package saves $50 and supports the recurring attendance that helps dogs build confidence, friendships, and familiarity with the routine.
A TYPICAL ADVENTURE DAY
Morning Pickup
Pickup generally begins in the morning. Each dog is welcomed calmly and helped into the day’s routine. The exact route depends on where the dogs live and which pack is attending.
The Journey Begins
The group travels to a carefully chosen destination. Vehicle arrangements are selected for the dogs attending, and the ride becomes part of the familiar rhythm of Adventure Day.
Outdoor Exploration
The pack spends several hours outside. A high-energy group may cover substantial trail mileage or enjoy active play. A mixed-energy group may alternate between movement, sniffing, water, and quieter exploration. Dogs who love swimming may head for water when conditions are appropriate, while other outings focus on forest preserves, prairie, or wooded trails.
Water and Rest
Activity is balanced with hydration and recovery. Water is offered throughout the outing. Shade, cooling breaks, slower trail sections, and quiet time are used according to temperature and individual needs. Rest is not a failure to adventure—it is part of responsible, sustainable exercise.
Photos and Updates
Owners receive photos, videos, and relevant updates from the day. You can see where the pack went, what your dog enjoyed, who they spent time with, and how they approached the experience.
Home Happy
After the adventure, dogs are returned home. Most settle quickly into a long, contented rest because the day provided more than physical activity: it offered novelty, problem-solving, natural movement, fresh air, and time with trusted companions.
THOUGHTFUL INTRODUCTIONS
Pack Matching Is Personal, Never Automatic
Every new dog begins with a meet and greet. This is our opportunity to learn about your dog’s routine, health, social history, communication style, equipment, favorite activities, fears, triggers, and goals. It is also your opportunity to ask questions and understand exactly how Adventure Days work.
Some dogs are ready to join quickly. Others benefit from an introductory neighborhood walk, time with Jared one-on-one, a gradual introduction to one compatible dog, or a shorter trial before participating in a full outing. That slower approach is not a problem. Patience creates better experiences and stronger long-term relationships.
The goal is not simply to add dogs to a vehicle or place unfamiliar personalities together. The goal is to create a safe, familiar pack in which each dog can relax, communicate, and enjoy the outdoors. Temperament, size, energy, play style, confidence, age, and existing friendships all influence group decisions. A gentle senior may enjoy a calm exploration day. A young working breed may need substantial movement and structured play. A cautious rescue dog may thrive with one predictable friend and plenty of space.
Adventure Days may be a strong fit for dogs who enjoy friendly dogs, need more exercise and enrichment, love hiking or swimming, become bored with short neighborhood walks, benefit from a consistent weekly routine, or need an outlet for energetic and working-breed instincts. Dogs do not need to be wild extroverts. They do need to be comfortable enough with handling, transportation, outdoor environments, and the dogs in their specific group.
Puppies generally need to be at least six months old before joining a full Adventure Day. Readiness also depends on vaccination status, physical development, confidence, stamina, and temperament. Senior dogs are considered individually; many older dogs still love exploring when distance, pace, weather, and rest are adjusted thoughtfully.
Dogs who are fearful, leash-reactive, or uncomfortable in groups may be better served by personalized walks first. Chicago Adventure Pack works patiently with many rescue dogs and cautious dogs, but group participation is based on compatibility and safety rather than a promise that every dog will be placed in a pack.

Safety, supervision, and responsible planning guide every Adventure Day. Outdoor experiences are joyful because the details behind them are taken seriously.
Weather-Aware Planning
Chicago weather can change quickly, so there is no rigid destination calendar. Temperature, humidity, wind, storms, air quality, trail conditions, ice, water quality, shade, and travel time are all considered. Hot days may call for earlier activity, shaded trails, water access, slower pacing, and extra cooling breaks. Cold or snowy days may require shorter exposure, more movement, paw checks, and routes with dependable footing. Severe conditions may lead to a modified outing, a schedule adjustment, or cancellation when that is the safest choice.
Hydration, Shade, and Rest
Fresh water is carried and offered throughout the day. Activity is balanced with quiet exploration and recovery. Dogs are watched for changes in pace, breathing, gait, enthusiasm, body language, and comfort. A dog who needs a break gets a break, even if another member of the pack is ready to keep moving.
Transportation
Dogs travel in a spacious adventure van using equipment and arrangements selected for the group. Loading and unloading are managed carefully, and doors are not treated casually around dogs. The route is planned to reduce unnecessary travel while making pickup and drop-off convenient for families in Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Old Town, Gold Coast, River North, Streeterville, the Near North Side, and select surrounding neighborhoods. Availability depends on the day’s route and group.
Leashes and Outdoor Management
The right equipment and level of freedom depend on the dog, destination, posted rules, recall reliability, and environmental conditions. Leash laws and destination policies are respected. Long lines or other appropriate equipment may be used when they create a safer way to explore. Owners should disclose escape behavior, equipment sensitivities, prey drive, unreliable recall, or anything else that could affect outdoor management.
Health and Vaccinations
Dogs must be current on vaccinations required by the current Chicago Adventure Pack health policy. Owners should disclose injuries, allergies, medications, mobility concerns, recent illness, contagious conditions, or changes in behavior before service. Dogs showing signs of illness should stay home to protect them and the rest of the pack.
Individual Attention
Age, body condition, health, temperament, confidence, play style, and energy are considered throughout the day. Supervision is active rather than passive. Group size is kept thoughtful so individual dogs remain visible as individuals, not simply members of a crowd.
Communication
Owners receive photos, videos, and useful updates. Communication is not limited to the fun moments. If Jared notices a change in movement, appetite, bathroom activity, energy, skin, paws, behavior, or social comfort, that information is shared. Honest observations help families make good decisions and deepen trust.
Emergency Preparedness
Owner contact information, veterinary information, and emergency authorization should be current. If a dog needs urgent care, the priority is to stabilize the situation, contact the owner, and reach appropriate veterinary help. Routes and destinations are selected with practical access and responsible decision-making in mind.
Consistency Creates Confidence
Adventure Days operate Tuesday through Thursday. Regular attendance of one or two days per week is encouraged. Consistency helps dogs recognize the pickup routine, feel comfortable in the vehicle, learn what to expect outdoors, develop friendships, and communicate more confidently within the pack. For many dogs, that predictability is what turns an exciting outing into a secure and deeply satisfying part of the week.
What to Bring
Most dogs need only their properly fitted collar or harness and access instructions for pickup. Chicago Adventure Pack provides water and manages the day’s supplies. If your dog needs specific food, medication, clothing, boots, flotation equipment, or other gear, discuss it during the meet and greet so a clear plan can be made. Please ensure tags, microchip details, veterinary information, and emergency contacts are current.

What Chicago Dog Parents Want to Know
Choosing all-day care is a meaningful decision. These are the questions families ask most often before scheduling a meet and greet. If your dog has a medical, behavioral, transportation, or scheduling need not covered here, include it in your inquiry so we can discuss it directly.
How old does my dog need to be?
Puppies generally need to be at least six months old. Physical development, vaccinations, confidence, stamina, and social readiness matter as much as the calendar. Older dogs are welcome when the day can be matched to their comfort and abilities.
Does my dog need to attend every week?
A recurring schedule of one or two days per week is preferred. Familiarity with the route, vehicle, leader, and other dogs helps the pack become calmer and more connected. Occasional availability may be limited.
AGE, READINESS & ATTENDANCEWhat happens in rain, heat, snow, or poor air quality?
Destinations, timing, distance, water access, shade, pace, and rest are adjusted to conditions. Adventure Days are not about forcing a preset itinerary. Severe weather, hazardous roads, unsafe air, or extreme temperatures may require modification, rescheduling, or cancellation.
Can my dog swim?
Water play is included only when the destination, conditions, and individual dog make it appropriate. Swimming is never required, and dogs who prefer dry land can still have an excellent day.

A single Adventure Day is $60. The 10-Adventure Package is $550, a $50 savings. Pickup and drop-off are included within the regular service area. Package and cancellation terms are reviewed before recurring service begins.
